Masonry Contractor in San Bernardino County, CA
One Touch Masonry builds block walls and sets stone, brick and tile veneer for homes in San Bernardino County. We are based in Hemet, one county south, so Redlands, Yucaipa, Highland and the cities along the 10 and the 210 are a reasonable drive for us.
Valley, mountains and high desert: three different jobs
Most of the county's homes are in the valley: Redlands, Yucaipa, Highland, San Bernardino, Fontana, Rancho Cucamonga and Ontario. The work there is a lot like ours in Hemet. Stucco fronts that get stone or thin brick veneer, columns at the entry, block walls along the property line, and fireplaces. Summers are hot, and the Santa Ana winds come hard through Fontana and Rancho Cucamonga, so we build block walls with the footing and reinforcing steel the wall needs for its height and the wind it will take, not just what looks right on the day.
Up the hill in Big Bear, Lake Arrowhead, Running Springs and Crestline, the problem is water that freezes. Water that gets behind stone veneer or into a cracked chimney crown expands when it freezes, and over a few winters it pushes the face off. On mountain jobs we pay the most attention to the parts you cannot see: the water-resistive barrier and weep screed behind veneer, the flashing where stone meets the roof, and a chimney crown that sheds water. We do not lay mortar when it will freeze before it cures, so mountain work is scheduled around the weather.
In Victorville, Hesperia and Apple Valley the days are hot, the nights can drop below freezing, and the wind rarely stops. Fresh mortar dries out fast in that wind, so we keep new work covered and damp while it cures, and we brace new block walls until they are grouted. Here is how it goes anywhere in the county: send us photos and rough measurements, we talk it through by phone, and then we come out and look before you get a written scope. Valley jobs are close to home for us. Mountain and high desert jobs we quote case by case, depending on the size of the job and the season.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you work in San Bernardino County?
Yes. We are based in Hemet, in Riverside County, and San Bernardino County is next door. Redlands, Yucaipa, Highland, San Bernardino, Fontana, Rancho Cucamonga and Ontario are a reasonable drive. Mountain and high desert jobs we quote case by case.
Can you fix stone veneer or a chimney damaged by freezing in Big Bear or Lake Arrowhead?
Often, yes. First we find where the water is getting in, because resetting stone without fixing that just repeats the damage. Then we repair or rebuild the veneer, the crown or the flashing, and we schedule the mortar work for weather that lets it cure before a freeze.
Do block walls in Fontana or the high desert need anything special for wind?
They need to be built for their height and exposure: the right footing, rebar and grout. Taller walls usually need a permit and an engineered design from your city or the county. We tell you which applies before we start.
